چکیده

Aim. This study aims to compare the postoperative analgesia between preoperative and ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks for different durations of laparoscopic gynecological surgery. Methods. A total 120 patients, ASA I-III, 18–65 years age, were divided randomly into 2 groups: TAP group (pre-TAP group) (post-TAP group). Patients in pre-TAP (n = 60) post-TAP received bilateral 0.375% ropivacaine, 40 mL, preoperatively postoperatively, respectively. Duration surgery, pain score, consumption analgesics, nausea vomiting (PONV) during first 24 h postoperatively recorded. Results. For all patients two groups, similar was obtained with no statistical difference. The same results found duration surgery <180 min. Meanwhile, undergoing >180 min lower analgesics consumption, higher satisfaction score than those group. Conclusion. Postoperative block could offer better No difference effect

[The analgesic efficacy of transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block].

The transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is a novel approach for blocking the abdominal wall neural afferents via the bilateral lumbar triangles of Petit. It was described for the first time in 2007 by McDonnell et al. We applied the technique after the original methodology of the authors. We evaluated its analgesic efficacy first 24 postoperative hours of patients, undergoing to surgical an...

Transversus abdominis plane block for postoperative analgesia after laparoscopic surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND The increasing use of the transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block, as a form of pain relief after laparoscopic surgery, warrants evaluation of its effectiveness, when compared with other analgesic techniques. METHODS We searched online databases of MEDLINE, EMBASE, Google scholar and The Cochrane Database of Systematic Review. Mean differences (MD) were formulated for continuous da...

Posterior Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) Catheters in Lower Abdominal Surgery

Objective: Single shot transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks have gained popularity as an analgesic tool after abdominal surgery. We present two cases where catheters were placed in the posterior transversus abdominis plane for providing continuous analgesia after lower abdominal surgery. Patient one was admitted for laparoscopy assisted left hemicolectomy and bilateral posterior catheters u...

The Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) block: Abdominal plane regional anaesthesia

HISTORY OF THE TAP BLOCK Abdominal field blocks and costo-iliac block have been used in anaesthesia for surgery involving the anterior abdominal wall for several decades. A technique involving multiple injections of local anaesthetic in the abdominal wall was used in the 1980s.1 This technique was improved with a blind landmark technique, via the ‘lumbar triangle of Petit’.2 The clinical effica...
